The programme to work field cycle

Case Study: Sciences Po & the Grandes Écoles network

Project lead: Michel Le Roux

Challenge #1

"Strengthen our alumni-school connections"

Challenge #2

"Provide meaningful mentorship to students"

Challenge #3

"Support young graduates' career transitions"

About the project

To support the critical juncture young adults face post-graduation, Michel established and presided over 2 alumni offices in the Netherlands and Portugal. Both represented his alma mater Sciences Po, the Paris Institute of Political Studies. Afterwards, more universities joined in to create one multi-school network named 'Réseau des Grandes Écoles'. Besides reuniting alumni around one national community, the initiative aims to connect students and graduates and ensure more smooth transitions from study to career.

Network
Development

When including new graduates into the alumni network, Michel also developed a mentorship programme for graduates. This dual approach between connectivity and coaching not only supported individual career paths, but also contributed to a vibrant and interconnected community.

Mentorships

The creation of the Grandes Ecoles network aided in stimulating cross-university collaborations, enriching the mentoring programme and proving the value behind schools having strong academic and professional networks.
