Recruitment event optimisation
Case Study: Format development for open day event
Project lead: Jacqueline van Alten
Challenge #1
"Present a unified image of the school across multiple locations & web platforms"
Challenge #2
"Ensure consistent event quality and stimulate peer-to-peer engagement"
Challenge #3
"Maintain unity while respecting each location's unique characteristics"
About the project
Jacqueline set out to create a new open day format centralised around multiple campuses at once. By uniting various best practices and integrating each campus's unique situation and need, she designed and developed a flexible event structure. This ensured that the school's corporate brand values got unified across all locations, but that the local visitors' socio-cultural backgrounds and unique programme offers per campus remained the key focus.
Event
structurisation
A key innovation was the recruitment of dedicated student promotion teams, each composed of motivated students per school. These teams, trained to communicate effectively with their peers and their parents, played a vital role in presenting a unified, authentic face of the school to all Open Day visitors that walked in.
Student representation
To facilitate and improve the programmes' own individual recruitment efforts, we developed a toolkit for them. This contained presentations templates, communication materials and best-practice guides. It helped programme representatives to deliver consistent, engaging and informative presentations that resonated with their unique prospective students.
