Real-time practices in IBL teaching

Case Study: Independent advice IBL at HAN - HvA - HU

Project lead: Michel Le Roux

Challenge #1

"Advise IBL programmes on positioning, to improve their accreditation results"

Challenge #2

"Help them include current business practices in their curriculum"

Challenge #3

"As accreditation panel member, review the programmes' quality"

About the project

Tasked with the critical role of auditing 3 Dutch universities' IBL (International Business & Languages) programmes during their accreditation, strategic consultancy company Hobeon and the Netherlands Quality Agency worked alongside Michel to identify the pressing need for IBL programmes to better reflect their connection to the modern business landscape.

Preparations

His advice centred around broadening the programmes' link to real-world business practices. This included incorporating new courses on creative thinking, concepting and branding, and finding ways to improve their intercultural engagement. This was achieved through practical cultural cases and international school partnerships.

Consulting & development

The restructuring and advice offered not only aligned the programmes more closely with industry expectations, but also fortified their international presence and enhanced their overall value and appeal to prospective students. This ultimately led to greater accreditation results.
