International application predictability
Case Study: The purpose and structure of pre-arrival meetings
Project lead: Irina Stoyanova
About the project
Predicting enrolment numbers, and whether the students who apply will match with the programme they chose, is a challenge that require a smart approach. Knowing this, and wishing to monitor and optimise her results, Irina analysed past enrolment data to explore student behaviours, trends and preferences. She realised she needed to create something that would help her better predict the accuracy of international student applications, and used the insights gained to develop a new and more personalised step within her school's enrolment journey.
Research & Development
Digital solutions help bring potential students to our doorstep, but when it comes to programme representation it doesn't convey information like direct, live contact does. Implementing virtual pre-arrival meetings allowed Irina to bridge the gap between distant observation and personal connection, enabling prospective students to see and interact with their future peers and instructors directly.
Open meetings
She made it her priority to maintain open and flexible lines of communication between prospective student and the programmes during the enrolment process. This helped to inform and to alleviate any immediate concerns, and provided her with enough valuable dat to understand their motivations and apprehensions. In turn, she used this to test and improve programme compatibility.
